Barbara works in mixed water media to produce paintings that evoke the essence of nature. It has been said that your earliest experiences define what is appealing to you - Barbara's earliest experiences were in the wilderness of northern British Columbia. She deeply loves the wild and powerful scenery she paints."Nature gives me a feeling of peace and helps put life into perspective" she says.
Studying with artists Madame Ilda Lubané, Ted Coxford and Frances Alty-Arscott influences Barbara 's wet on wet technique and signature swirling light and mists. This style reflects a strong spiritual connection and adds a mystical quality to her paintings. The results are natural, impressionistic portrayals of woods, mountains, flowers, water and sky with the elements acting upon the landscape.
She loves to paint and believes that this joy of creating is reflected in her pieces.
Barbara lives in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, near her beloved children and granddaughters, and surrounded by a beautiful spiritual community of friends.
